It's that time of year...
Maybe you celebrated with food and drinks and you're feeling like you're ready to make a change.
Instead of making resolutions, set some realistic goals and then create a plan of ACTION so that you actually reach those goals!
✅ Set Clear Goals
Remember that for effective goal setting, goals should be SMART:
S= Specific
Instead of saying that you want to lose a little weight, say exactly what you want the scale to read.
M= Measurable
How will you know when you've reached your goal? How will you measure success? That number on the scale, or fitting into a specific pair of jeans, etc. are all great ways to measure your results.
A= Achievable
Is this goal achievable? Losing 30 lbs in a week is NOT, but losing 30 lbs in 30 weeks IS!
R= Realistic
Is this a realistic goal for YOU?
T= Time Bound
State by when you will achieve this goal.
✅ Create your Goal Statement
If you've participated in a group challenge program with me, then you know that I want to hear your SMART goal in a positive, empowering sentence like this:
"I will wear my size 10 jeans on or before Feb 1, 2022."
or
"I will weigh 145 lbs on or before March 15, 2022."
Once you have your goal statement, speak it, read it, write it OFTEN. If you need help with this, reach out to me or join our next group challenge!
✅ Visualize Success
Get a clear picture in your mind of what you’ll look like (and any health numbers like cholesterol and blood pressure!) in your “after” picture. The more specific the better.
✅ Take Action
The time spent between your goal setting and taking action determines whether you will succeed or fail. Create a plan of action that is realistic, for example working out 3 times per week instead of 7 times per week. Reach out to me for help if needed.
Don’t allow yourself to get stuck between thinking about it and taking action—there is always something that you can do immediately!

Take a walk, prep that Broccoli for dinner, give away the leftover cookies... or even better...
