Easy and Effective Healthy Eating Tip

In order to have your best body in good health, you'll want to eat healthy MOST of the time.

Unfortunately for most people, healthy eating is a confusing concept.

There’s so much contradicting information out there about what is or isn’t healthy that even the most well intentioned eater becomes overwhelmed.

Should you eat a grain-free diet?

What about dairy?

Is it OK to include fruit?

What about rice?

How about these granola bars that are labeled as heart healthy?

It’s enough to drive you crazy, right?

The most common reaction to this confusion is to give up. Why continue to strive for a healthy diet when a granola bar that’s made with a large amount of refined sugar is marketed as healthy?

Let's clear up some of the confusion with this one very simple, very effective healthy eating tip: Eat low in sugar.

To eat low in sugar, you can check the sugar grams on each thing that you eat throughout the day, and only eat items that contain low single digit or zero grams of sugar. (I am not a fan of artificial sweeteners, so focus on naturally low in sugar foods.)

This single strategy will cut out a majority of the confusion surrounding healthy eating. Since eating a high sugar diet is the biggest nutritional downfall for most people, you can easily track sugar grams to see where you stand.

This time of year is a challenge to eating low sugar with the abundance of holiday treats. My suggestion is to choose some special treats to enjoy and eat low in sugar the rest of the time.

My recent Fat Blaster program members did just this and dropped 3-10 lbs over the past 2 weeks. It really is possible to decrease sugar in your diet without avoiding all treats. Learning to use your power of choice and to change your daily habits is the key. Reach out to me for help with this.

Are there other aspects to eating healthy, such as including enough lean protein and fiber-filled veggies in your diet? Absolutely! As you grow accustomed to eating low sugar, you can focus on increasing your fiber and protein.
